Scale Desk is a free browser tool published by Uplink Automation for planning the outer dimensions of scale models and displays.

What it does

The calculator converts rectangular bounding-box dimensions, finds the smallest aligned scale denominator that fits a usable envelope, and compares candidate ratios. It is intended as a starting point for planning, teaching and conversations about a model's size.

It does not inspect CAD, assess printability or guarantee fit after manufacturing. Material behaviour, tolerances, strength, supports, joints and the dimensions of an actual enclosure require separate review. The methodology guide explains the formulas, exact unit conversions and rounding.

Your measurements stay local

Calculations run in this browser. The tool has no login, analytics scripts, advertising, tracking cookies or database. It does not send entered dimensions to Uplink Automation or put them in the page URL. Refreshing the page resets the example.

“Copy summary” writes the result to your clipboard when the browser permits it. “Download CSV” creates a file on your device. You decide whether to share those results.

The site is served through Firebase Hosting. As with a normal website request, the hosting infrastructure receives connection information such as your IP address and the requested page or asset. This is separate from the calculator's locally processed inputs. Links to other websites leave this site and are subject to those sites' practices.
